ABAT Certification Pathway: 6 Steps from Coursework to Credential

The 40-hour course is the first step of the QABA ABAT pathway. This guide walks through all six steps so you know what comes next.

Step 1: Complete the 40-hour ABAT coursework

Complete the required coursework with an approved provider. At The Outcomes ABA this is live, instructor-led training, available classroom-based in Chennai or online live.

Step 2: Complete fieldwork and supervision

QABA requires 15 hours of supervised fieldwork. QABA states that candidates must be enrolled in the related coursework before supervised hours begin, so plan your fieldwork around your course start date.

Step 3: Get your supervisor recommendation

Obtain the required recommendation or verification from an appropriately qualified supervisor.

Step 4: Complete the QABA application requirements

Submit the applicable documentation and complete the background check and other requirements set by QABA.

Step 5: Pass the ABAT examination

Register for and successfully complete the ABAT examination through the QABA examination process. Examination fees are paid directly to QABA and are not part of any coursework fee.

Step 6: Credential review

QABA independently reviews your application and determines credential eligibility.

Remember: coursework completion does not automatically grant the ABAT credential. Always confirm the latest requirements on the QABA website.
